Daniel's Birthday Present

We bought Kayaks for Daniel's Birthday.
Here are some pictures from our first test run. We went to a reservoir in the foothills about an hour north west of our house.
The pictures are a little blurry because we took them with Daniel's phone.

Yes mom, we bought life jakets!

The Big Fisherman!!
With the not so big Rainbow Trout:)

Daniel's B-day

Yesterday was Daniel's Birthday!!! I attempted to make him zucchini casserole like his mom makes it for a special B-Day dinner. I think I did pretty good. Thank you Linda for the recipes! As you can see we have zucchini coming out of our ears!

Colorado State Fair - Rodeo

We also took in the Rodeo and a Jason Aldean Concert while we were at the fair. Below are some pictures. The rodeo was pretty good. Jason Aldean is phenominal in concert. If you like country music, go see him in concert.

Our new friends Garrett and Nikki. Garrett works with Daniel at MIR.

A view of the Stage and Arena from our seats.

Introduction of all the sponsors.

I thought this was pretty cool. Before they presented the flag and the National Anthem, they had each flag from the Untied States Army come out and they played all the theme songs and had the veterans stand up. I thought this was a neat thing to do.

The guy in the green shirt is Jason Aldean

Special thanks to the guy at Taco Bell who took our 5 million taco orders at midnight on our way home.

Colorado State Fair

Daniel and I took in the Colorado State Fair this past Saturday with some friends. We had a great time and discovered another place we hadn't been yet, Pueblo, CO.

They had a bunch of barns with isles of live stock. Mom, this picture is for you.

Daniel trying to win a stuffed animal for me.
Another Barn full of rabbits.
A giant sand castle. Note the size of the men working on it compared to the sculpture.
We also discovered a new sport, Mutton Bustin. Basically they put a bunch of little kids on sheep and see how long they can hold on. Very entertaining to say the least.

Some things we have yet to figure out:
  1. What Fried Coke is.
  2. What Fried elephant ears are.
  3. Who invented fried chicken on a stick? (Genius)

We had a great time and discovered some new things along the way.

A Dogs Life

More pictures of our "loved a lot" dogs!!

Sleeping In

The girls didn't want to get up this day, so we decided to take their picture. Normally when the alarm goes off they are both on their backs with all paws in the air! This is also typical of them. Mable pouts about having to get up and Nola, on her royal throne she has managed to steal away from one of us, has her normal "Einstein hair" as we call it because it goes everywhere!

Baseball

Baseball Game #2
We have had two baseball games so far with no wins yet, but they came very close both games. Here are some pictures. Sorry if they are blurry. It is hard to take pictures when they are always moving! The guy in the white shirt with his hands on his hips is John. Daniel works with him at MIR and he is the one who invited him to play on the team.

Say a little prayer for the Eat em Up! team so they can hopefully win their next game!

Sports

Yesterday Daniel was asked to try out for a softball team that was co-coached by one of his co-workers. We went to practice yesterday with Jon ( the co-worker) and a few other players. Daniel did great, and he is possibly playing in a game tonight. The dogs and I were his cheerleaders, but the girls got a little distracted. Jon brought his Daschund Duke who is a male and not fixed. Needless to say I spent most of the time keeping the sidelines G rated and not X rated. This was a little challenging. Note to self: Mable is a big flirt! It was nice to see Daniel playing ball again. The last time he played was in high school. He really enjoyed it, so I hope Jon will put him on the team. Stay tuned for pictures from the game.
